Terms of Service
These terms set the rules for using Megumi, including private access, study content, acceptable use, and AI-generated feedback.1. Agreement
By accessing or using Megumi, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Megumi.
If you use Megumi on behalf of a school, organisation, or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so and that your use complies with any rules that apply to that school, organisation, or person.
2. The service
Megumi is a private AI study workspace for speaking practice, transcript review, model answer support, and assessment-style marking. Current features may include:
- Live speaking practice and test-style sessions.
- AI-generated feedback and drills.
- Model answer review for selected student turns.
- Marker sessions for supported subjects.
- Saved history for approved accounts.
Features may change, improve, move, or be removed as Megumi develops.
3. Accounts and access
- Megumi is invite-only unless we state otherwise.
- Signing up does not guarantee access to the workspace.
- You must provide accurate account and profile information.
- You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
- Do not share your account or let another person use your access.
We may approve, reject, suspend, or remove access where needed to protect the product, comply with law, or enforce these terms.
4. Study use
Megumi is a study support tool, not a school, teacher, exam authority, or official marking body. AI feedback, scores, model answers, transcripts, and marking suggestions are guidance only.
You remain responsible for checking your work, following your school rules, and using judgement before relying on any output. Megumi may misunderstand speech, misread images, apply a rubric imperfectly, or produce incorrect feedback.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Megumi to cheat in an exam, assessment, or controlled task.
- Submit another person's work as your own.
- Upload unlawful, harmful, abusive, or highly sensitive content.
- Attempt to bypass access controls, waitlist restrictions, rate limits, or security checks.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service.
- Share, resell, or commercially exploit Megumi content or outputs without permission.
- Use automated tools to create accounts or generate excessive requests.
6. Content ownership
You keep ownership of the study content you submit, such as answers, transcripts, and uploaded work. You give Megumi permission to process, store, display, and transmit that content as needed to provide the service.
Megumi, its interface, prompts, product design, generated system structure, and service materials remain owned by us or our licensors. You may use Megumi outputs for your own study, but you may not misrepresent them as official marks or official exam guidance.
7. Privacy
Megumi's Privacy Policy explains how account data, study records, AI processing, service providers, and deletion work. The Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.
Read it here: Privacy Policy.
8. Availability
Megumi is provided on a best-efforts basis. The service may be interrupted by maintenance, provider outages, browser restrictions, microphone permission issues, model failures, network problems, or changes to third-party services.
We may limit, suspend, or modify the service to protect reliability, security, cost, or user experience.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Megumi is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee that outputs will be accurate, complete, available, secure, or suitable for a particular assessment.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive loss arising from use of Megumi. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using Megumi at any time and may delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, misuse the service, create risk for other users, or if Megumi is no longer offered.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as Megumi changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
